Last year, I signed up for classes to learn how to operate a moped as well as other motor vehicles. I looked through the phone book to find the best class to take in my area. The listing that I found was under "driving schools uk", and I found a place to go which was close to my house. I was slightly nervous when I first called, because I had never even been on a moped before...let alone taken any classes on operating one. The lady from the school reassured me that I would be fine, and that it was a very small motor so that I would not get hurt.

I showed up on the first day of class, with my shiny new helmet, excited to climb on top of a moped the first time. There were ten other people in my class, and none of them looked like them knew what they were doing either. I breathed a sigh of relief, as I knew that this would be one of the most fun classes that I would ever take.

As we got onto the road, I gribbed down on the handles as tightly as I could. I screamed out for the rest of the class to slow down, as each motor in front of me sped up and started to gain distance. This was my first time ever riding, and I was not prepared for such speed! Finally the instructor stopped and came back to help me, it was a very nice thing to do since I was so scared. She showed me how to maintain a normal speed, and how that was the easiest way to maintain my balance. After a while, I began to trust my instincts, and in no time at all I was back up to speed with the rest of the class.

At the end of the day, I thanked the teacher for showing me how to ride for the first time. I am not sure that it is something that I will do ever again, but it was a great experience that I will tell my kids about someday.
